Frequently Asked Questions

What is the contract length?
There is no fixed contract length! You decide your arrival and departure date before arriving at Chester House. We calculate the total agreement cost, and split it into monthly or termly payments that you pay by standing order.
What do I need to pay before arrival?
To confirm your booking, you need to pay the appropriate booking deposit. The deposit will be fully refunded once you have departed assuming no damage has been done to the room.
You will also need to pay your first month’s payment before or on your arrival date.
What time is check in and check out?

Check in is from 12pm to 6pm on your chosen arrival date. A member of staff will greet you and give you a brief tour of the accommodation before showing you to your room.

Check out is at 10am on your chosen departure date. You will need to hand your room key into reception on your departure date.

Can I stay during the summer?

Of course! All residents are welcome to spend the summer break at Chester House. Just speak to the accommodation team if you would like to extend your agreement.

Is there Wifi?

Yes, we have WiFi throughout the building which is included in your fees. We have connection speed of up to 200 Mbps for the whole property.

Am I allowed guests?

Unfortunately, because of Coronavirus restrictions, we are unable to allow guests on any part of the Chester House property until further notice.

Can I book if I am under 18?
We accept bookings from young people aged 16 to 30. If you are under 18 you will be assigned a member of staff as your main point of contact. We recommend that you read our under 18’s policy if you are considering a stay at Chester House.
Can I bring my bike?
Yes! Residents with bikes will be given a key to the bike store upon request.
Can I bring a TV?
Residents have access to TV lounges in the Hub, but they may also bring a personal TV if they wish. However, our rooms do not have tv aerial sockets. Residents will have to check to see if a TV license is required if using a TV or if they view certain channels through online streaming.
Do I need to be a student to live at Chester House?
Most of our residents are students, but we also have some young people living here who are starting out in their chosen careers, or who are completing internships or apprenticeships.
