Frequently Asked Questions

While there’s no minimum stay requirement, we prioritise longer-term bookings during peak periods. You have the flexibility to choose your arrival and departure dates in advance. Once confirmed, we’ll calculate your total cost and will ask you to set up convenient monthly payments via standing order.

To secure your booking, a deposit is required 28 days prior to your arrival. This deposit is fully refundable upon your departure, provided no damage has occurred to the room.

Additionally, your first month’s payment is due before or on your arrival date.

Check in is from 12pm to 6pm on your chosen arrival date. A member of staff will greet you and give you a brief tour of the accommodation before showing you to your room.

Check out is at 10am on your chosen departure date. You will need to hand your room key into reception on your departure date.

Of course! All residents are welcome to spend the summer break at Chester House. Just speak to the accommodation team if you would like to extend your agreement. Otherwise, you can submit a request to stay during the summer by filling out a booking enquiry form on the main page.

Yes. Wi-Fi is provided and is included in the rent.

Chester House does not provide ‘wired-in’ internet access.

A strong, consistent, reliable Wi-Fi connection is available at all times and in all bedrooms throughout the building, the hub communal area (including study areas) and the dining room.

The Wi-Fi connection is suitable for most online activities including streaming video and video conferencing.

Yes you are! For a small fee, residents can book an overnight guest to stay in their room using the sleepover form on the residents area of the website.

Guests must be at least 16 years old, and residents are required to be with their guests at all times. Guests must adhere to our policies, and residents are responsible for their guest’s welfare and behaviour at all times.

Great news! You can stay with us if you’re 16 or older.

For residents under 18 years of age, we assign a dedicated staff member to check in with you regularly and ensure a supported & comfortable stay. There’s more info about this in our under-18 policy on the website.

Yes, many people decide to put a small fridge in their rooms. You can also keep a kettle in your room, but no other cooking equipment is allowed. The equipment does require to be PAT tested if it is over a year old.

Yes! Residents with bikes will be given a key to the bike store upon request.

Please note that we do not allow storage of e-bikes/scooters due to fire safety.

Residents have access to TV lounges in the Hub, but they may also bring a personal TV if they wish. However, our rooms do not have tv aerial sockets. Residents will have to check to see if a TV license is required if using a TV or if they view certain channels through online streaming.
Most of our residents are students, but we also have some young people living here who are starting out in their chosen careers, or who are completing internships or apprenticeships.
Your guarantor is responsible for paying the accommodation fees if you are unable to pay.

As with all contracts, once it has begun, it is not possible to terminate the accommodation agreement early.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but due to limited parking availability, only staff and contractors are permitted to park on the premises. We are unable to provide parking for residents at this time. Some of the nearby streets do offer free parking, though we cannot be responsible for any vehicles parked there.
